Eficácia da técnica de agulhamento seco no controle da síndrome da dor miofascial

Resumo

JUSTIFICATIVA E OBJETIVOS: A disfunção temporomandibular (DTM), é um termo coletivo que abrange a articulação temporomandibular (ATM), os músculos da mastigação e/ou estruturas músculo esqueléticas associadas, e tem na síndrome da dor miofascial (SDM), uma condição clínica que pode caracterizar uma disfunção muscular, quando na presença de nódulos hipersensíveis, chamados de pontos-gatilho miofasciais (PGM). O objetivo deste estudo foi através de uma revisão da literatura atual, fornecer dados disponíveis sobre a eficácia do agulhamento seco na dor miofascial. CONTEÚDO: Foi realizada uma busca nas bases de dados PubMed, Bireme e Cochrane, de maio de 2001 a dezembro de 2014, cruzando-se os descritores: músculos mastigatórios, músculos do pescoço, dor facial, pontos-gatilho, síndrome da disfunção da articulação temporomandibular e síndrome da dor miofascial. Como critérios de inclusão foram analisados apenas estudos randomizados, encobertos ou duplamente encobertos, com 12 ou mais participantes, de aspectos metodológicos aleatórios, que relacionassem o uso do agulhamento seco na SDM na região da musculatura de cabeça e pescoço, limitados para o idioma português, inglês e espanhol encontrando-se vinte e quatro estudos que foram incluídos neste estudo. CONCLUSÃO: O agulhamento seco mostrou bons resultados na desativação de PGM, embora a injeção com soluções anestésicas associada com a fisioterapia seja interessante, quando ambas foram comparadas a outras modalidades terapêuticas. Ainda há a necessidade de serem realizados mais estudos para vincular melhores resultados em relação a uma terapia para a SDM baseada em evidências.
