Abstract

This production is the result of research that aimed to analyze the production of knowledge about prejudice against sexual and gender minorities in the university context. This is a scoping review research developed in electronic databases of scientific literature LILACS, Medline, Scopus, PubMed, Embase, Cochrane, Web of Science, Periódico CAPES and ERIC using the descriptors prejudice, university, sexual minorities and gender in Portuguese, English and Spanish combined by the Boolean operator AND, without time frame. 473 scientific productions were found without duplication, 38 of which were selected for reading in full, based on reading the respective abstracts. However, only 10 were open for reading in full and made up this scoping review. Therefore, we conclude that there is little scientific production worldwide on prejudice against sexual and gender minorities in the university context, which points to the need to broaden the perspective on the production of knowledge in this area. In addition, interventional research and the creation of collective spaces that address issues of sexual and gender minorities in the context of universities can be powerful strategies to mitigate prejudice and stigma in this context.
