Da abordagem biológica do conceito de raça ao processo de desconstrução do racismo
o relato de uma experiência desenvolvida em aulas de Ciências da Natureza e suas Tecnologias no Ensino Médio
Abstract
This paper presents the report of an experience developed in the context of teacher formation actions at the Federal University of Acre, from which emerged the organization and development of a Didactic Sequence (DS) for Basic Education, within the scope of the curricular components of the area of Natural Sciences and its Technologies. In order to approach the theme of racism from a discussion based on the Natural Sciences, we selected the following concepts: race, ethnicity, identity, racism, scientific racism, institutional racism and the myth of racial democracy. The DS had six activities, in which 25 students from the 2nd grade of High School participated. From the analyses of the productions carried out, it was possible to perceive changes in the perceptions of racism after the problematization of the concepts, since initially the students approached it only to elements related to its impacts on the subjects' lives, which are: trauma, shame, fear, insecurity, anxiety, embarrassment, psychological and emotional problem. Afterwards, however, the perceptions pointed out the impacts, such as prejudice and discrimination, but articulated them with the generating factors, especially skin color and the concept of race. Thus, we highlight the relevance of the pedagogical approach of the proposed theme, in order to discuss in the classroom the misuse of knowledge of the Natural Sciences in the justification of processes of discrimination, segregation and deprivation of individual and collective rights.
