This article evaluated the effectiveness of an academic event held at the Federal University of Alfenas in the Nutrition course on the knowledge of listeners. The event was planned by the University's Nutrition students and on the days of the event there were live transmissions (via the YouTube platform) of lectures by professionals in the field of Nutrition who were invited. At the end of each lecture, questionnaires were applied to those who were present, on which there was a knowledge measurement scale before and after the explanation on the topic. The results obtained were significant, as the academic week had an average of 541.6 reproductions and when analyzing the data by applying the paired t test on them, the value of p<0.001 was found, with significance observed when p< 0.005. Thus, it is concluded that academic events contribute positively to the construction of knowledge among university students.
