Microscopia eletrônica de transmissão da liga Ti-12Mo-13Nb envelhecida após forjamento a quente

Resumo

As ligas de Ti do tipo β metaestável possuem propriedades mecânicas, em especial um módulo de elasticidade que depende não somente de sua composição, mas também dos tratamentos termomecânicos aplicados.  Estas ligas para serem usadas em aplicações ortopédicas requerem um balanço entre alta resistência mecânica e baixo módulo de elasticidade a fim de evitar o efeito “stress shielding” Estudos preliminares no desenvolvimento da liga Ti-12Mo-13Nb mostraram que a liga envelhecida a 500 °C /24 h  após forjamento a frio, apresentou as melhores propriedades cuja microestrutura consistiu em uma distribuição bimodal da fase α  na matriz β.  Neste trabalho, a liga Ti-12Mo-13Nb na condição envelhecida  a 500 °C por 24h  após forjamento a quente foi caracterizada microestruturalmente caracterizado microestruturalmente por difração de raios X e microscopia eletrônica de transmissão. De acordo com os resultados obtidos, enquanto o forjamento a frio acarretou numa distribuição bimodal da fase alfa na matriz beta, o forjamento a quente acarretou numa precipitação fina e homogênea da fase alfa na matriz beta.

Biografia do Autor

Sinara Borborema Gabriel, Doutora em Engenharia Metalúrgica e de Materiais pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – COPPE/UFRJ - Rio de Janeiro

Possui graduação em Engenharia Industrial Química pela Escola de Engenharia de Lorena (2002), mestrado em Engenharia de Materiais pela Escola de Engenharia de Lorena (2004). Doutorado em Engenharia Metalúrgica e de Materiais pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (biomateriais), tendo participado do programa de doutorado sanduíche (CNPq) na Universidade Livre de Bruxelas (Bélgica). Tem experiência na área de Engenharia de Materiais e Metalúrgica, com ênfase em Transformação de Fases, Microscopia Eletrônica de Transmissão e Difração de raios-X. Sua atuação em pesquisa envolve os seguintes temas: estudo de superligas de Ni, desenvolvimento de ligas de Titânio para aplicação biomédica, estudo dos processos de hidrogenação e desidrogenação de metais refratários e estudo de ligas ternárias como Nb-Si-B (diagrama de fases)
